What Can Vinyls Do For You?
Vinyls are emerging more and more in recent times as a cost effective and great way of adding style and flair to the decor of people’s homes.
People choose anything from graffiti designs to inspirational messages to decorate their homes. That’s the great thing about vinyls – you can have whatever design you want at a great price.
Not only are they becoming increasingly popular in decorating peoples homes. But businesses have been using vinyl as an effective method of promoting themselves to their customers. Fleets of vans and window displays are all made to ‘pop’ and raise awareness of their brands through the use of vinyls. As any business owner will know, looking professional is the key to successful trading and repeat custom so if you haven’t already at least considered purchasing vinyls, let me tell you now it is definitely worth your time.
There are three different types of vinyl and choosing the right one is important for your application. I shall go through these types now:
Monomeric
This is the cheapest option when it comes to vinyl. When it comes to it’s applications, this may well be all you need when it comes to decorating your home with a great indoor life it will last. However, due to the molecular structure of the plastic used in this type of vinyl, it is susceptible to shrinking and cracking when exposed to the environment so when it comes to vehicle signage this will not be the best option for you.
Polymeric
Mid range priced, polymeric vinyl is a much better option when it comes to simple signage of vehicles. They are better for printing on and you are looking at all round better results than monomeric vinyl. You can expect five years out of a polymeric vinyl before it starts to weather. Of course, this is not ideal for full vehicle wraps. Which brings me onto the last type of vinyl…
Cast
If you are looking for a permanent solution and great print quality, cast vinyl is the best option for you. Of course, this does come with a higher price tag than your other types of vinyl but the results clearly demonstrate why it is worth the extra money. If you are considering a full vinyl wrap this is the only option worth considering as you can expect the vinyl to last up to 10 years.
